Australian Cricket Season 2025-26 (Ashes)

Seriously, I know my opinion counts for nothing the general scheme of things, but this imo probably isn't such a bad thing, Green, he has been given way too many chances compared to others, he hasn't produced, time for a change.
Head is not an opener, again, imo he is of far more value down the order. I know it's not going to happen, but how about picking an opener that can wear the opposition down.
I guess the real problem for me at least, is that hit and giggle has taken precedence over test matches. So be it, things change, not always for the better in my opinion, but of course, as usual, your milage may vary. :)

I guess I was thinking along the lines of a Bill Lawry or even a Geoff Boycott, someone to take the shine off the ball, anyway, the loss may make them think about trying to dig in, rather than hit everything for six.

That's the way Head has always played. He won't change.

It was ironic to see the former opener batting at 5 in The 2nd innings where the Head-line opener once occupied

That said, 2 day test matches are appallingly bad shot choices batting, woeful pitches and dominant bowlers. or combination of all
And IMPATIENCE

Getting a bit fed up with blaming the curator of the MCC ground for the farce when the issue was the really the incompetence and lack of test ability by the batsman most of who all seems to just want to play hit and giggle cricket.
Nonsense. Please prove your argument by tallying how many batsmen, across all four innings of the MCG Test, fell to reckless shots, versus those dismissed playing regular cricket shots? In some other matches I would agree with your point.

This Test had nothing to do with incompetence and all to do with the ball seaming too significantly. Batsmen didn’t know, on any given ball, whether they were likely to be beaten on one side of the bat or the other. The sideways movement would have reduced over the match if it had gone longer.

Then how do you explain what happened in Adelaide the test before? There were comments the day before that the pitch was green and Australia didn't pick a spin bowler as result. Curator left an extra 2mm on the pitch. That was what caused the issue. It was still green after two days of play.

Too many to go throught and name. I'll reference this article in defence.
