Australian Cricket Season 2025-26 (Ashes)

Maybe didn’t get a mention interstate but when the Balmy Army left on the first night they saw the mess. Next day one of them bought 16 garbage bags and at the end of the day handed them out and everyone put the junk in it. The Hill was left clean. Nice work Balmy Army.
Credit where it’s due 👍

You see it regularly from the English fans: “it’s the hope that really crushes you” after another defeat.
This morning got their hopes back up… only to be crushed once more! 😂

Which spinner comes in to replace Lyon for Boxing Day? The simple answer is Victorian Todd Murphy but I’m not convinced.

Todd Murphy averaging nearly 35 in first class cricket shouldn’t be cause for selection.
First class 44 games. 119 wickets at 34.9

Corey Rocchiccioli from WA would be my pick. He’s performing pretty well this season and has a better first class average.
FC 48 games. 161 wickets at 30.7

Murphy has played 7 Tests so there is something to be said about him already having some experience and he’s a couple of years younger. Will be interesting to see which way they go.

Rinse and repeat yesterday! Good job, pity it’s not infectious amongst Aussie audiences.

Never really in doubt but at least we got five days of interesting cricket.
Always in doubt for me when the Aussies have a strong lead and think they can coast home.

Five days of interesting cricket be damned. If it’s against the Poms, it should be a crushing three or two day humiliation every time.

Cricket purists would disagree. Don't need to see a crushing defeat but strategic play over a few days. Not into this nationalism stuff as much as watching a good game. I mean, who wants the Boxing Day test to be done and dusted in two days.
