Australian Cricket Season 2025-26 (Ashes)

I liked Lyons story on how the decision was made to have Head opening the batting with Weatherald. No one volunteered so Travis said " How hard can t be. I'll give it a go."
Wot? You mean Steve Smith didn't volunteer like he did last time 'because the team needs me to'. Meaning that Smith wanted to.

He's barely passed 50 in 2 years.......
Nope but he's stayed at the crease and taken the shine off the new ball, been a great partner to whoever was at the other end. Not like the rest of our top or middle order regularly get more than 50!

To be replaced by whom? Long list of failures of other openers.

If his back played up twice from jumping for a slips catch in this match how can he be sure it won't do it again. if he plays in the third test he will turn 39. I suspect South Australians would rather see Head and Weatherald opening.

We might even show our displeasure if Usman padded up. 😱

Adelaide has gone crazy for this Test. Accommodation is shockingly priced. Friends over from Victoria are staying in a small Airbnb for $900 a night which is cheaper than other prices I heard on the radio this morning. His dad was interviewed on the radio this morning. So laid back about it all. Such a nice change. Watched it from home eating takeaway. He was supposed to go out but decided to cancel when he heard he was opening.
