They don't seem to have grasped the difference between test cricket (a five day match) and one-day or Big Bash style cricket. There is no 'digging in' /biding your time/pacing by the batsmen.

It’s the Baz Ball way. Sometimes it works. Sometimes we have today.

I agree. A fellow as experienced as an opener should not have managed things so badly managed a toilet break a toilet break. Surely he went before the start of the session. Had he been right to open he might have given Weatherald time at the other end to see what the ball was doing. Having to face in your first test would not be the most relaxed way to start.
Personally I would play Weatherald and Renshaw as the openers for the next test.

Yeah. They left Weatherald out to dry in the first innings. Head didn’t do that. Team mates.

Yes but it's not like a proper test match - will be over well before the 5 days.
