Australia Red Tail Sale - (21 April - 28 April)

The website advertised OOL–SYD for $99 in Y class but I couldn’t find any flights at that price on any date.
Just had a squiz. Plenty of $99 fares from mid-October to mid-December and again through January to end of March next year.

The sale price isn’t as widespread as some other pairs I checked but definitely there across a good chunk of the schedule.

I agree. I can't see any $99. The lowest is $119. Not the first time that Qantas has been caught lying. There's a separate thread asking why Qantas lies.

There is for SYD-OOL but not OOL-SYD

Ah, yes. It seems the promo fare hasn’t been filed correctly on the OOL-SYD sector. I haven’t seen this for any other pair yet, so I’m inclined to call this an error over a “lie”, but we’ll see if they fix it.

Creating a thread for this simply because given the current doom and gloom of the economic and travel environments, Qantas has just dropped some of the best domestic fares I've seen in some time and valid across most of the current schedule (at least out of Sydney).
Good deals, yet I think it is mostly because people are expecting prices to drop and so bookings are sluggish over the past month or two.
We all know what's happening in the Middle East is just an excursion of the normality, and once the matters are settled, fuel prices will dramically fall and so unless you are travelling in a short horizon, there's no points to make a future bookings to cop expensive fuel surcharges.
Unfortunately the cheap J fares aren't available on the other weekend I want to travel - no matter Im sure there will be other sales as its not until next year. who knows the $299 SYD-MEL J fares that were offered a couple of months ago may also come back.

It has come back, with $30 extra.

Brisbane is also $299 with 40 Status Credits.

Sale fares between capital cities tend to only be available on the first and last flights of the day.
Not true. My fares were at 9:20 a.m. and 1:25 p.m. for my SYD-ADL return. My ADL-SYD fare was actually $30 cheaper than this year's one (I always fly out on Friday and back on Sunday for the Mad March long weekend)

No fuel surcharge atm, and the cheap J flights make perfect sense to pre-book any known upcomming trip.

I noted $329 MEL J in my original post but its only up to 27 Mar, the other trip i need is a few days later where its over $550, so i will wait for another sale that covers those daates later.

Already booked that with 80 SCs iykyk.

That wasnt the case on previous offer when there were $299 J fares SYD- MEL. I got lunch flights no issue.

This offer for SYD-BNE its 3 flights before 9am and 3 flights after 6pm not just first/last which is ok as i needed to fly after work anyway: and those are most popular for business commuters.
