Im not sure if this has been covered elsewhere, but has anyone had any experience with the quality and reliability of the Australia Post Postcard (iphone) app?

I used it last year without issue. If I remember correctly the postcard took a few days (sent from Melbourne I think) but the quality was fine.

Thanks. I know that posting from Europe for example can often mean I get back before the postcards.
My worst result was Koh Samui. Sent 2 postcards to the grandchildren. "6 months" later they arrived !!!!
I do wonder if most of that time was getting off the resort

I've used the Australia Post one and it was fine - both to send domestically and internationally. You need to have good internet to be able to upload your postcard photo but otherwise have had no dramas with it at all. Because the photos are printed and sent from Australia it should be quicker than posting hard copy ones from overseas in most cases. I think they have taken about a week from memory.

Maybe they found it was more expensive than they thought to manage as I considered a good deal when compared with other postcards.
You're right - it's not there at all.

Well I thought the app ( in its original incarnation ) was fine. I'm not sure about the options from other providers.
My other motive for wanting the Aussie post version is having the ability to walk into a post office if I had an issue that needed sorting.

The Aus Post Postcard App has been removed from iTunes App Store. However, the App on the phone will still function and take your money there will be no postcard delivered however. The website suggests you contact them to get your money back. I am in the process of doing that. I am going to try Touchnote.

Touchnote works well. NFI why you'd ever bother with the aus post version.

What was the problem with the QF app? I downloaded it but have been waiting to hear whether it worked for you before trying it out.

the first thing is that the Post card neverarrived, I had to send an email and ask what was going on.

Mrs GPH now informs me that in spite of the Appappearing to be a Qantas Product, it is in fact a company called Scribble Pics,I still can’t determine where they rea based BUT they have an Australian ABN.so you can imagine how surprised I am to discover that using my Australian(Jetstar MC) CC with what I believe to be an Australian company, I am sluggedeach time 10 cents (Currency conversion) for a $3.30 transaction. (one wondersif this would be multiplied by 10 if there were say 10 different cards, or 10 addressees?

to find out more I went to the website and foundthis:

ScribblePics has been chosen by leading travelclients including Qantas, Jetstar, Hilton, Expedia and Contiki to makepersonalised postcard software and solutions since 2008.

We print and post within 24 hours fromAustralia, the UK and the US and are expanding our international print networkrapidly. We use the world’s leading Xerox and Hewlett-Packard professionaldigital printers.

We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Ifyou’re not happy, we’ll either fix the issue or refund your purchase.

I’m not 100% happy, and wasn't given the optionto have a refund.

I wonder what Red Roo would know about this stateof affairs, and why we were not advised up front that this is clearly a foreigncompany? and that there are additional charges involved.

im not unhappy with the product quality itself, Per se (the post card arrived today and its fine) But there is little [point in promising something and then not delievering it.

And the Response :
Hi Mr GPH,

It is rare that this fee is charged. In any case thecurrency fee is being charged by your bank.

The amount is charged in Australian dollars, however weuse a leading payment provider who is not based in Australia to processpayments.

We have no control over how banks charge fees on youraccounts.
However I've only heard of this situation twice in 4years. Can I suggest you email your bank on this regard.

We are happy to pay the fee if you provide your bankdetails.
