Aussies warned about coughet scamsters

The problem is, the authorities don't seem to be interested - which damages the reputation of coughet even further.

Cops generally get a cut of the action. Corruption generally runs to the top of government in Thailand. This I think happens in most older societies.

Corruption in the first world generally occurs at the executive level. In the third and developing world everyone NEEDS their cut.

We pay our officials well enough to survive basically.

Corrupt economies theoretically don't prosper relatively.

Plenty of examples in Oz (allegedly) - Eddie Obied, more than an even chance the Hon member for Dobell, & Gordon Nuttall.......no need to use allegedly for Gordon.

Just to clarify, when I said older societies, I include 1st and 2nd world countries in the list of countries that have deep entrenched corruption that runs back to ancient times, eg Italy, Greece etc.

Newer Countries like the US, Australia, Norway, Germany have less but it still happens. I hope I didn't offend anybody but I was making a generalisation about corruption in some older societies whether they be 1st, 2nd (I think this used to be communist countries?) countries or the developing world.

Anyone know apart from what was written in the article other "scams" to watch out for in coughet?

Suggest substitute the word 'developing' for 2nd World.

All countries are corrupt to some degree at an executive level.

Ancient corruption.....now there's a separate study. Good lead in

In the USA they actually do disclose the nett worth of Senators and congressmen. They get a salary of $175000 per year but most end up increasing their nett worth over a 4 year term by upwards of a million or so.Some of course because they are already rich but the increase is across the board.
Also interesting is that in the Senate which is Democrat controlled democratic senators are worth more than republicans,in the house which is republican controlled it is the republicans who are worth more.Interestingly there is one democratic member of the congress who has a negative nett worth.
Now of course none of this proves corruption but it sure is interesting.
Why cant this be done in Australia if they are all so honest?
