So an executive from a company no one has ever heard of says something outrageous in order to get the company's name in the spotlight.

Meanwhile, the official travel advisory is at its lowest level.

Biggest load of bullocks I've read for a long time! Just spent the last week there and most people I spoke to just want the pain of this election to end. And many of those people just don't want to talk about it. I can see why when you watch the TV with all the bombardment of ads like in Nevada. They did like my analogy of the Debates; two drunks in a pub arguing with each other!!!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

A classic bit of nonews, making a story out of literally nothing, nothing more...

During my recent (Oct 16) trip to the US I found many people actually wanted to discuss the political system with me once it was established I wasn't American.

A lot of people commented that they found it difficult to engage in politics with the current to candidates. There was a lot of interest in how Australia elects its leaders.

Some people even said they were life long Republicans but couldn't vote for Trump.

By engaging respectfully I had some great conversations that were mutually beneficial.

I've never seen so many political experts on TV at one time!! Naturally every network is carrying it, and everyone has their theories. Be glad when its over and we can get back to normal drug ads on TV instead of the political cough.

First thing I'm doing on QF11 next week is to find a Yank and ask them what on earth are they doing heading back to the US hahahah.

Pain of the election to end, and on Skynews (Adl QF lounge) NYT predicting Trump to win.

Pain of the next president to come......at least Alec Baldwin will be able to do the stand up comic rounds for years to come.

Pain of the next president to come

Why rush to judgement? The man is not even inaugurated until 20 January 2017.

The USA people have spoken. As John Howard once commented 'the voters always get it right.'

Remember that the President-elect and the Republican majority in the House and the Senate have a clear mandate.

While the President-elect may not be perfect, he managed to beat the media leftie bias and the political elite.

An incredibly stupid article by some unknown insurer posted by the OP shows how some Australian businesses are out of touch. It was a largely calm election, save for one sad Californian incident.

That insurer ought be one to avoid.

We can't contrast the USA's elections with communist mainland China because the latter lacks democracy.

God bless America!

In N'Orleans at the moment- perfectly calm and safe.
Most of the newspapers' headlines are suggesting everybody is stunned bu the people you speak with are not.
