Aussies home from Thailand at cost of $500,000 - News - Travel - smh.com.auJetstar has been left with a $500,000 bill from its rescue of Australian holidaymakers caught up in Thailand's political unrest.
A chartered Jetstar flight landed at Sydney's International Airport just before 9am (AEST) today, bringing home 200 passengers who had been stranded on the resort island since Friday.
Anti-government protests in Thailand forced the closure of three airports in the country's south, including the popular holiday destination of coughet.
Jetstar has agreed to reimburse travellers for their additional accommodation expenses and costs while they were stuck in Thailand.
