Aussies hit with hefty online fees | Travel Advice | News.com.au

TRAVELLERS who turn to online agencies looking for bargains are being slugged with hefty booking fees or not being offered the cheapest flights, industry experts have warned.

Companies such as Webjet charge nearly $30 per booking for domestic flights and $50 for international, while Expedia and Zuji - which both recently scrapped booking fees - do not offer all budget airlines.

The interesting part of the article (to me) is that Flight Centre are also considering dropping booking fees. That will add to the pressure on the others to follow suit.

I think some people just don't realise.

I work with a young lady who always used webjet - she never even noticed the large fee. I showed her how to book it herself and she has never looked back.
