Hi all,

I have tried searching this site and I've gone through the UK Border Agency website but not much luck with my question.

I am an Australian, born and raised in Aus and I recently obtained my UK citizenship and passport through my British parents. So I now have my Aus and UK passports. My wife and 2 kids on the other hand only have Aus passports.

I was hoping to get my first stamp in my new UK passport when we travel to Paris and London this Christmas.

So from my reading so far, I'll leave Aus on my Aus passport and arrive at Paris and present my UK passport. My question is, when we approach Immigration at Paris, can we all approach the EU members line or should we all go through the non EU members line? My preference is for all of us to stick together through Immigration.

Thanks for your advice, love the forum.

Wattch.

You won't get a stamp when entering or leaving the EU on a UK passport unfortunately :)

I'm in a similar situation, my wife is a dual UK/AUS national and me AUS only.

Last time we travelled to the UK we split between the UK line and foreigners line, the UKBA officer said I could of went with my wife down the UK line. Unsure if France is similar though!

I can also confirm that I walked away with stamps through the EU but my wife got none.

Did a similar trip in May and I have an AUS and Irish passports wife has AUS passport, in Paris we went through the all passports queue and she got a stamp in he passport, no stamp for me in my Irish passport, same when we flew to Ireland, and no stamp as we fly from Ireland to the UK for either of us. We used which ever queue appeared shorter when we approached.

EU passport holders don't get stamps in any EU country that I am aware of, my Irish passport is almost out of date and as no stamps in it, even after a number of trips there in the last few years, any where else I use my AU passport.

My wife has both UK/AUS passports, so when we get to UK or Fr we always ask "innocently" whether we can go through together. At Heathrow there is usually an immigration officer supervising the entry to the queues, and they always say to go through the UK line together. But in Paris when we hopped on the Eurostar they checked us individually. Haven't yet flown in to CDG, but I would look for someone supervising the lines and ask.

Thanks for the tips. Shame about the lack of stamps for EU passport holders.

Thanks
