Attempting business multi city booking from US to Australia

I have been looking at making a multi city booking from the US to Australia (essentially to SYD MEL CNS)-the international legs are in business but only options for the domestic ones are economy.
Pre COVID -domestic legs on a multi city booking always booked in business as well
Is this a change ? or is Qantas trying to make me book separate expensive domestic tickets?

I don't see that - I regularly book Business on domestic segments connecting to / from Business on International flights.

Late May -June at this point - either via LAX or DFW to SYD initially

Presumably 2023, as it's a tough get currently, especially since AA canned their SYD flights until November.

Note that often the multi booking results screen will display a whole series of Jetstar flights before showing Qantas domestic flights with Business award availability.

I tried doing a dummy booking again and it is still happening- no Jetstar flights all QF
Is this an issue for bookings originating in the US?

Works fine for me (ie. lots of seats available), on a gold account and a bronze account.

Happy to look at specific routings/dates/number of seats if you want?

Thanks for the offer but still unsure of my dates

I was trying to see what the business class options to Australia were like as I had not been back for almost 3 years and luckily Qantas has just kept extending my status
