ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Getting the dreaded Internal server error with Beem CC/BPAY using any denomination. Hopefully these technical gremlins haven’t just resurfaced. Anyone else experiencing problems?

I had the error, support fixed it, had it again, they fixed it again. Currently I don't have a problem but I expect it will happen again at some stage.

Is BEEM the cheapest ATO credit card via BPAY

ATO payment via Gift cards....
Use Visa or Mastercard?
Preloaded gift cards are debit!
So Mastercard cheapest!

MasterCard – Domestic Debit

0.20%

MasterCard – Domestic Credit

0.77%

Visa – Domestic Debit

0.40%

Visa – Domestic Credit

0.72%

Beem is free? Unless you're getting those gift cards on sale.

Yes gift cards on sale and then does anyone know if can be used in BEEM to pay via BPAY and not incur above fees?

I haven't tried but beem does appear to be selective. And the process of adding cards just to remove them would be a pain. I would wear the 0.2% and pay to ATO direct if you can

Hey all, just signed up for my first credit card (ANZ FF Black) and this month have to pay 4k to the ATO, 1.5k in land rates and $800 on rego.

This will get me the 5k min. spend to receive 110k points + $255 cash back.

What's the best, most simple way to make these payments for a once-a-year user like myself? (i.e. non-business). Beem it? Sniip?

Thanks in advance!

Beem it

Edit: especially being ANZ - they seem to otherwise exclude spend on most government bodies from points earn

I also suspect some people will go into Coles for this offer & buy some other stuff while they’re at it.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

For smaller amounts there is the ZIP option with the $2.50 fee removed for all BPAY bills, still get points and it counts towards minimum spend for SUBs if you pay it off. Almost guaranteed to work with a CC.

Disaster about Sniip increasing the Amex charge.

There's no other option now is there? And even with Amex Platinum @ 1.125 airline points per dollar, 2% isn't really worth the points is it?

Shame, having a mix of points helps massively helps too.

Only program where it might still be worth it via Amex is Asia Miles as they still only charge 85k points with Cathay and 90k with other programs one way to/from Europe. With Amex Platinum this would be $1,520 in card fees - wouldn't be surprised to see this get devalued though.

Singapore's 130k points for the same trip is $2,300.

Of course both are subject to fees etc...
