ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

The points train definitely seems to be slowing. I'll be paying this quarter BAS early, on May 20, to get one last batch from Bankwest.
I'll still hang onto the World card though, because it's a useful one for travel and international shopping, since they have no currency conversion charges.

Otherwise the search for a new points earning tax paying card begins. If someone could PM me this mysterious other method I'd be most obliged. Cheers.

Just in case the BTeam actually get elected we decided to pay out some franked dividends. It certainly distorts a lot of what is payable to the fiscal fiend.
The CFMMEU and the MUA are a huge problem for Australia where they think it is ok to break the law to get what they want.
Meanwhile there is Clive Palmer using money he may have pulled out of a nickel refinery restitution account to say vote for moi.
Even Westpac is paying its franked dividend early by a couple of weeks to get it into the current year. Trying to stay ahead in company and income taxes is not easy when you have so many idiots wanting to run the country.
My son sent me a picture of a hand holding many straws just to give me a laugh. So he thinks I am clutching at straws.
I do hope our senior citizens understand that their self funded retirement is under seige and that could have a big impact on the seniors children who are in the 35 to 65 age group.
At least we can still get some points on credit cards but even that opportunity is shrinking in 2019.

I think the vast majority of Australians who aren't taking advantage of a massive tax rort are focused on the bigger dilemma: over the coming weeks, should we support Cersei or Daenerys?!?

Only 1 card left. :( .....3rd party pay sites are probably the only other option but post April 15, they are not really good for Amex!

I think I will favour Mrscove’s dragon as her CC is close to getting the birthday 10% bonus.

Hoping the credit card funds arrive tomorrow morning. I want to wrap up some accounts.
This thread has passed the 10 year test.

If electric cars take off in Australia our fuel taxes won't work going forward. Currently there are reputed to be 7,500 electric cars on the Australian roads so it doesn't matter just yet plus they are all pretty expensive so the average car buyer would probably not want to buy one. The other problem is our power supply in most residential streets is probably insufficient to fast charge many cars at the same time.
So I am thinking new road use taxes would need to be considered rather than fuel taxes and pricing subsidies to get sales moving. Those changes cannot be made without a lot of planning as Australia cannot afford another NBN type screw up.

There may be lots of problems for the ATO if the tax deduction for accountants is reduced to $3,000.
I can envisage a mess of gargantuan size at the Tax Office if this becomes tax law.
I don’t do tax returns any more as there are rules and law changes every year.
I think collections may drop if this thought bubble is legislated.

Wow....I hadn’t heard of this one before. Makes me wonder what else I haven’t heard of!

But wait there’s more so keep reading. The Financial Review and The Australian have figured it.
