I don't know why people say the QCC card is hard to get. Reading all the comments, I was not sure I would get approved - being a sole trader with less than 12 months of being in action. However, I put all the documents together - plus even put a few extra ones just in case it would help my case and I got approved straight away. They even offered to re-finance my home loans at a better rate than what I was getting - bonus!!

I've been very happy with QCC - now just need them to increase my spending limit.

BankWest at 0.63c / pt is still ok value so I will probably just stick with that for the time being, I've been put off Qudos by the sound of how hard the application is :)

To get the Qudos card took a lot of paperwork for me as I have quite a few CCs and they wanted 3 months transactions on each of them. Not hard but lots of pages for me. After a few months I use it in many places in Australia and I am very pleased with the card.

Just a question:

Can you put a card into credit to pay off a tax bill and still receive points? I've always been unsure of this and never tried as I thought it would raise some sort of red flags somewhere. The card in question is the Westpac Black.

I do this every quarter for the BAS. my reading at the ATO web site, is that if you're not borrowing the money for your BAS, the CC fee is tax deductible. but get official finance advice. I pay my Altitude Black off to $0.00, and then put the card into credit for the BAS, and then do the transaction. no probs with the points. you can do the same for personal CC's, but I don't believe the CC fees are deductible. that's my take on things.

SO it's ok with the ATO?
if so will apply too

I gave BW cards a big shot and today's 80k was to beat the changes next week which this forum refers to as enhancements.
marki yes Qudos is ok for this thread.

Cove so they give around one point to one dollar to one point QF?

bloody Marvellous where were u card!! thanks Cove
Yes QF points at one per dollar on everything with two per dollar on Qantas purchases.

will keep my eyes peeled :)
Be aware that before QSCU become Qudos, they regularly had a 30,000 bonus point sign-on offer. I am hoping there is another offer just around the corner.;)

Looks like SQ may be going to reduce its fleet of A380s so we are now thinking all our family group with Kris Flyer redemptions should now be into Suites Class wherever possible. Sure the A350 will be lovely in business class but no need to rush into business class. Westpac Platinum Kris Flyer still works a treat on ATO but is no longer issued to new applicants.

cove, vicsta, get me outta here - thank you for confirming what I thought. Unfortunately I probably have the best credit out of those I know, so I'll just pay "cash" on my visa debit. I'll learn my lesson for next year!

Not sure of someone has already addressed this but why would are you paying on a visa debit? This would include a 0.42% fee with no points wouldn't you just Bpay?

Someone has to be paying our banks $12.5 billion in fees. Just don't let it happen without earning something sweet in return is what I am thinking. js changed our lives as far as travel goes with that first post in this thread. I still have 7 CCs that work ok with ATO and sure there are continuous changes. Our work fortnightly PAYG starts on July 1st and no I am not happy with that new red tape.

Hope it works for you quokka77. The ATO thread has been kind to us. My son has just moved his bookings to the front of the plane and he is excited. I know he is missing out on my 20 years experience of economy travel but what the heck.

I have just been handed a bill due today. What would the gurus do? I have these options:

BW World - M/C (.66 point per $1)
ANZ QF Black - Visa and Amex
NAB Velocity - Visa and Amex
Coles M/C

Dont know about Coles....who actually runs the card for Coles?

Thanks cove, will revert to BW/W.

OK, here we go ... name change from GE Money to Latitude Financial Services,

The only info I can find for the Coles M/C is Wesfarmers and Latitude, plus some mob called Hallmark General.
