ATM fee-free bank accounts

Currently with ING, who removed the ATM fee rebate some months back. This means the only fee-free ATM option is using a Big 4 bank ATM, and there aren't many of those conveniently located near to me.

Are there any banks/accounts still offering something like this?

I rarely use cash, however there are situations where I need to withdraw money. I refuse to pay $3 for the privilege of withdrawing money at an ATM.

And yeah, I realise Coles/Woolworths is an option but again, that's not always viable.

Macquarie Bank refund all Australian ATM fees (ATM withdrawal limits and fees).

Macquarie Bank

Gah, I refuse to use them.

Had an account with them and my replacement debit card never arrived. Couldn't just request a new one through customer service. Wanted me to fill out two separate forms and go through a heap of other bullshit.

Told them to copulate themselves.

AFAIK, it’s the only option still available - given that most providers don’t cross charge each other now for ATM access anyway.

So it’s those times you need cash and the Pub ATM wants $5 etc.

MacBank is VERY easy to apply online and DC turns up in the post a few days later. The Saver account is reasonable (not as good as ING) but you also earn interest in the Transaction account - unlike ING and UBank.

Never had issues with Macqurie Bank, debit card always arrived (blessing of a PO Box), identity checks all online and immediate and a great app that doesnt need mobile internet when traveling.

AFAIK onky ones to rebate Aus ATM fees since they dont have their own branded ATM and no hurdles to earning interest on txn or savings account.

Only other fee free option is to use supermarket or Australian post but in both cases you are bound by opening hours and usually also need to make a purchase to then get extra cash out.
