The 17-member Association of Asia Pacific Airlines said Friday that passenger and freight traffic on international routes declined for a second year in 2009.

Overall passenger traffic was down 5.7% to 132.9 million from 2008’s 140.9 million, while freight tonne kilometers were 46.8 billion, off 11% from 52.6 billion. Carriers cut their available freight capacity by 11.8% to 70.7 billion tonne kilometers.
