soorox,

You would probably be better to set this up as a carefully worded poll in the options.

1. Singapore
2. Cathay
3. JAL
4. Emirates

The rest are much of a muchness in my experience but Garuda is definitley 15!!

Well... I'd put SQ and OZ in the first two placings (not even sure which way round either!!)...

But my next two would be CX and NH .. and NH aren't even listed????

What's with that?

I'd concur with these four being at the top - in the business class cabin. I'd put SQ ahead of OZ (just) but not sure who is better CX or SQ. Have only had a single flight on NH, but service was up there. Y.

The most notable exception from the list is Jet Airways, who tend to get good reviews, and soorox - are you talking overall service across cabins, or for a specific cabin?

I dont do Asian Airlines(basically everyone in that list bar Emirates), not even SQ.

I wouldn't go near #12 if you even paid me to do so...

I second that, please explain?? why wouldn't you "do" asian airlines???:confused:

And yes, Emirates and Etihad don't belong on the list as they're Asian airlines, i'd even go so far as to suggest Air India don't either as they're part of the Indian subcontinent not Asia, but that's just me being fastidious!

As far as a response to the poll, definitely SQ.

I'm shocked that NH didn't even rate a place on this poll. For my money, their new long-haul F is just as good as any other in the sky, particularly the cabin service, the delicious and spectacularly artistic catering, and the Sake list...

SQ is a mighty fine product too. I would happily fly with them any day.

I would rather take a paddle-steamer than a Garuda flight.

Malaysian is a v underrated carrier, more so on forums like these because they don't belong to an alliance and have cough FFP agreements. Excellent service (much more relaxed and friendlier than SQ, CX, JL, NH), great food. Their only problem is a financial one and has more to do with the lot that runs the airline and the meddling of politicians.

The Japanese carriers have v nice catering.

My personal faves would be:
1) Malaysian
2) Singapore
3) Cathay (well, compared to the rest...)

Sadly I am too much of a mileage cough to fly MH - now if only they'd join oneworld already!
(They nearly did in 2000/2001 when QF literally offered membership to them on a silver platter amongst other things but nup... "we're too good for an international alliance." Now no one wants them and they're literally begging to join ScaryTeam!)
