Hello,

I am currently booked on a Classic Award J seat PER-MEL.

I want to try and re-book on an ASA seat and then upgrade to J (there's space / availability) to get that all too important ~ and maintain Platinum.

Will the new ticket issue if there's an existing booking same day / flight etc, or not?

Cheers :)

It should do - but don't be suprised if you get a call from Qantas telling you, you are booked twice on the same flight, and asking you to cancel one. I had this happen once when I was booked on a domestic trip, but subsequently decided to go overseas. I had to connect via SYD, which was the destination of my domestic trip, and a woman from Qantas rang and asked me if I realised I had two bookings on the same day and what was I going to do about cancelling one?
