Where to start... this community and especially the yearly gatherings has been an absolute pleasure and learning curve in the world of points and everything travel.
The F & J flights I have been able to book with points just amazes my friends, and it all started here.

Thank you Matt for pointing me in the direction of going via Johannesburg from London on the way back to SYD in 2015 to fly in J. By a happy coincidence you were on the same flight as my wife and I and we enjoyed some time together in the lounge. I wish you all the best in the future. Thanks Matt - as mentioned in the other thread on your change of roles, your contribution to AFF has been incredible and yes, AFF is the best online community I've come across --- I've saved $1,000s over the years and had much easier travel in general thanks to tips and contributions from this community. It's actually, come to think of it, the only online community I really proactively contribute to, as much out of a way of giving back to the community - and the extent of travel and related knowledge in this community is off-the-charts (and quite tolerant as well in general communication).
