Hello.

I have just found out I need to travel to Tinian on Saturday.

So I am going on QF 97 to arrive in HKG around 1730 and thence a six hr lay over until the UA flight at 2330.

Probably a silly question, but as I am going on another airline where QF do not service that destination does anyone think I would be allowed to wait in the QF lounge?

I was able to secure a Business ticket on UA to GUM but vaguely remember reading here that this does not give me lounge access on UA flights unless I am gold or whatever it is called with them.

Also have never been to Honkers or on a United flight before so will be interesting. Come to think of it, Have never been to the North Mariana Islands either, but that will be another story.....

As your onward flight is not a OneWorld airline I don't think you will have access to the QF lounge.
However it looks to me reading this and this as if you should have access to the United CLub Lounge - just not the Global First Lounge.

Thanks for this easyayeen. I kind of thought I would be struggling re q lounge.

I had read through some that stuff on the united site, but when I read the section about business it mentioned priority check in and baggage etc, but I could not see mention of lounge access.

It does seem a little vague.

United international business class provides lounge access. Domestic flights are generally excluded in all premium cabins unless you are a member of the club or you fall under some of the exceptions such as transcon PS services.

Have arrived in Tinian and was able to access United lounge in both HK and Gum.

For something to do I asked at the Star alliance /Krisflyer lounge in HKG and was welcomed in there too.

When I read the thread title, I thought you'd be asking about the CX HKG arrival lounge. (arrival lounges, where they exist, are not part of the oneworld agreement. So flying on a QF flight to HKG won't give you access to the CX Arrivals lounge.)

QF>UA at HKG would give access to any star alliance J lounge in HKG, but not the CX or QF lounges.

This is correct. A international star alliance (United) business class boarding pass will give you access to any star alliance business class lounge including SQ, TG and UA.
