I was quite surprised to see last week that tiger had some of the most expensive "cheap" fares for when I was looking to travel down to Melbourne On the 17th and return on the 20th. QF was even competitive with a few red e deals, more so if you had chk in luggage.
I think the fact they only have 1 morning flight is also going to work against them.
At the moment Tiger's fares are starting to be competitive, so maybe they will be the airline of choice for those wishing to book at the last minute??
Maybe they are keeping their pricing rational and hoping to create a cozy and profitable triopoly
