Are Flexi Fares Overpriced?

Flexi Fares overpriced ? Yes.

MEL-SYD-OOL (Two sectors) Flexi $209.00 inc 40 S/Credits

MEL-SYD Flexi $269.00 inc 20 S/Credits (Saver Lite $109 / Saver $125-$229)

Seems odd. Looks like they know they can charge more on the MEL-SYD as business will pay for the "Flexibility". Some companies I know of, have a BFOD policy, but the return can be a Flexible fair, if meetings run over or circumstances change etc.

Flexi Fares are just another way of "adding value" to a seat. Providing ability to change flight time, add food etc. Allow J Upgrades. It's just Yield Management, allowing cheaper "Saver" fares.

Those of us in the government sector also have a BFOD policy (unless there in an entitlement for a higher class of travel). We can take a flexi home but have a tick a box reason for not taking BFOD.

Yes. If I'm going to pay too much for an airfare I'll fly Qantas.

OOL has a little price war going on.

B-I-L often travels on upgraded ex OOL flexi due to the price differences betwixt OOL and BNE (he lives near Loganlea)

Have noticed this as well. QF are really going hard here, VA trying to defend their turf. Fun for all!
