It is a 50% bonus on SC, not double. The bonus SC are awarded to the traveller. The bonus points go to the Aquire account of the business.

Ah, thanks for the correction......it pays to read more carefully than a quick glance!

I think the would count as Qantas flights. Key requirements highlighted.

An Eligible Flight means a Domestic or International flight which has a Qantas 'QF' flight number on the ticket that is purchased in Australia; is operated by Qantas, Emirates or American Airlines; has a ticket number commencing with '081'; and is booked and travelled for business on or after the date the business registers for Aquire. Exclusions apply

Interesting that other code shares seem to be excluded - such as AirCalin and Fiji Airways.
I think Air Vanuatu code shares have been suspended due to the state of the runway at VLI anyway.

Newly minted Aquire member, and this offer will be well used as doing a MEL - SYD - DFW - MSY & return trip for a conference at the end of February. End of FF year is April 30 so Gold will be retained easily.

I've read it a few times, I think that is the eligibility for Aquire earn. I've assumed the 50% extra SC will only happen for aquire earning flights.

So bonus SC's would post for the traveller, regardless of whether or not the Aquire member reaches their 20k threshold? Does the member have to buy the tix or can the traveller?

The ticket needs to have the Aquire Business ABN on it - and the passenger FF number - doesnt matter who buys it.

In general, the earning seems to be entirely separate between member accounts and Aquire account. Not sure about the second question specifically in relation to this promo. But I've had others pay for their flights (reimbursed later separately), enter their ABN and the flights have credited to Aquire. The uncertainly here is that the bonus is going the other way. But it should work provided the ABN is put in the booking.
Anyone have experience with this yet?

I've answered my question about account roll over. Depsite a join date in March, it seems my account will rollover on 1 May. That extra month last year is going to stick. Slightly less than ideal as I've made a booking in April that will have a decent earn, it would be good to start of my pending points collection with a big hit of points (in april).

I am not so sure. General eligibility from the Aquire site here -

Important Information

1 Status Credits are earned on eligible Qantas, oneworld alliance airlines, Jetstar Airlines and Fiji Airways flights only - see the Airline Earning Tables for details.

...

3 An Eligible Flight means a Domestic or International flight which has a Qantas 'QF' flight number on the ticket that is purchased in Australia; is operated by Qantas, Emirates or American Airlines; has a ticket number commencing with '081'; and is booked and travelled for business on or after the date the business registers for Aquire.

Just looking (hypothetically) at SYD-DRW-BME Y return for $928 for a total 120SC +50% - 180SC
or SYD-BNE-AKL-SCL-AKL-SYD in Y at approx $1299 for 160SC +50% - 240SC
I am tempted.

I have looked at the QF Status Run threads but can't quite get my head around it.

You're probably correct. But the instructions are slightly confusing as the second dot point says to get started book an eligible flight. I'm not sure how to reconcile that SC are earned on a whole range of flights, but to get started with the promo it seems to suggest only eligible flights count.

To get started, simply:

  • Login to register your business' ABN for this offer. Not an Aquire member? Join today.
  • Book an eligible flight3 by 29 February 2016 for travel until 30 April 20164
  • When booking your business travel, don't forget to add your traveller's Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number and business' ABN

I've found something for $1780 for 420 SC. But SYD-AKL return in J can be had for $1141 in April to earn 240SC including the 50% bonus.

Item 1. and 3. do appear ambiguous.

Is the SYD-AKL return in J offering for $1141 on the Qantas engine?

Yes in the qantas system. I do a search for Y, but they are displaying a J sale fare in the search results. I think it books as an "I" fare if IIRC. This doesn't work for domestic connections as the domestic leg books as Y-, at least for ADL-AKL.

Edit: the fares might also be eligible for Aquire discount, but I can't remember if I saw that or not when searching the other day.

BTW does the frequent flyer get double points or only the Aquire account? Having one frequent flyer account was confusing enough but now it's like having two accounts with slightly different rules to manage!

Only the Aquire account.

Couple of silly questions

1. The bonus SC are only on the first leg of an itinerary? ie BNE-LAX-BNE would only earn the bonus SC on the BNE-LAX leg?

2. The offer is available for more than one segment during the offer period? Sounds silly, I know, but not explicitly stated in in T&C like other bonus SC offers?

Thanks!

1. Why?
2. Yes, any eligible flight up to 30 April.

Discussed in posts #70 & 71. An eligible flight is explained in point 3 -
