I had assumed that flyers have to be employees but it seems that isn't the case-if I'm interpreting correctly you could claim for employees of other businesses if you were paying the fare and it the travel was connected to your business. Is that true?

The relevant section of the Aquire T&C would seem to be:

...for air travel booked and paid for by the Member and travelled by their Aquire Flyers for the Member's business purposes...

and the definition of an Aquire Flyer is:

a QFF Program member who is an owner, director, officer, employee, contractor, consultant, partner or principal of the Member and is a Benefit Earner

and the definition of a Benefit Earner is:

an owner, director, officer, employee, contractor, consultant, partner or principal of the Member who may earn Aquire Benefits for the Member under these Terms and Conditions or the relevant Reward Scheme

So based on that, you could only claim for employees of other businesses if they were also employed by (or contracting or consulting for) your business.

Thanks. As a sole trader I hadnt paid much attention to the intricacies of Aquire.

Nope, T&C say you have to book after January 27.

Yes that is all true.

Except....

I had a look at that booking today (the one booked on Dec 30) and interestingly an E-ticket had not been issued.
Rang Qf - correct.. Eticket had not been issued. Not sure why.

So Eticket just arrived with the Issue date and the payment date as Jan29

I may have just squeezed in...?????

I'm not aware of anyway that Aquire can change your relationship with the tax office - so no tax implications. But note that Aquire requires the travel to be for business purposes.

Thanks. Would travel to attend a "conference" in Las Vegas be considered travel for business purposes? ;)

I am useless at reading T&C's (and reading maps). I assume the bonus sc will apply on QF code flights on Emirates out of/into Australia?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just the usual 'wait for the Emirates F sale to AKL' then book, kind of plan. :p.

I am a little dim so play along with me. If you book an Emirates flight it will have an Emirates prefix to the ticket number? If your answer is something you think is better not broadcasted then by all means pm me. ;)

You can book many EK operated flights on a QF codeshare. Prices may not be the same:)

If booked through Qantas it will have QF prefix!

I can't get ADL-AKL in F to work. ADL-CHC does but not ADL-AKL.
At current pricing F doesn't look that attractive even with 50% SC.

Any thoughts on when the Aquire year will roll over, given the extra free month last year.

I understood you were waiting for an Emirates sale.

No. The Emirates flights go on sale on Qantas site. There's a thread about it.
Clearly something up with the AKL arrival. Might have to visit Christchurch instead.

Are the double SC's awarded to the person flying and are they regarded as QF sectors?

Sorry, I know it's a really stupid question, but I am eligible for an aquire membership, but I've not previously bothered. I've recently been offered a QF fast track over the next 90 days, so I'm wondering if these double SCs would count toward it?

Does anyone know of any free Aquire memberships on offer at the moment?

It is a 50% bonus on SC, not double. The bonus SC are awarded to the traveller. The bonus points go to the Aquire account of the business.
