I got a bit screwed on this one. Signed up in April for the 5K promotion but never activated, so didn't get the 5K. Now aQuire tell me "hey buddy, sorry you are in our system as inactive. No 5K for you and no 10K either. But thanks, and hey how about activating and paying us the $50 anyway?"

ahhh, maybe next year.

Turns out the Acquire website didn't like my perfectly legitimate, used for all other purposes like tax, ABN.

Don't have time to chase up now but did anyone else have this proble

So, as a sole businessperson, I must earn (min.) 20 000 points from eligible flights at Acquire points rates, OR ..a handful ?

(This from Acquire Help & FAQ's question section)
I own a small business with one employee and I fly frequently. The business is a Member of Acquire. Could my business earn Acquire points on the Eligible Flights I take ?

Aquire Points earned on Eligible Flights in each applicable Membership Year will be held in the Member's Account on a pending basis until:
a) 20,000 Aquire Points have been earned from Eligible Flights and
b) at least two Aquire Flyers as defined in the Terms and Conditions, have each travelled on one or more Eligible Flights within an applicable Membership Year.

Please refer to the individual terms and conditions of other partners to find out if any conditions exist in relation to the earning of Aquire Points with a particular partner.

If at the end of the business' applicable Membership Year our business only has 19,000 pending Aquire Points from Eligible Flights and 30,000 Aquire Points from other partners, what will happen to the business' Aquire Points at the end of the applicable Membership Year?

Your business will retain the 30,000 Aquire Points earned with other partners, but if your business has not reached the minimum threshold of 20,000 Aquire Points from Eligible Flights in the applicable Membership year, the 19,000 pending Aquire Points will expire.

My second lot of Staples paper arrived today :)
Ordered yesterday and left on the doorstep as per my instructions.

Thanks for this tip. Bought $65 worth of handy stuff from Staples to make use of the $10 off $65 deal as well as the free delivery, etc.

Aquire members get free delivery until end of the month...which month?...either end Oct of November, one of the two. :)

... and surprisingly got 5290 points in my QFF account - nice suprise as I (was) about 10k short for a return J class points trip for 2 of us to Europe. .

As matter of interest, how much is a Euro J return?

Hi All
total novice here, just starting to explore if I can make this FF thing work.
I do have an ABN, although it's not my primary income source.
Just wondering if this Aquire deal would be recommended for such a beginner?
i figure the 20000 points might end up costing me the $50 plus the $179 membership next year, and as I don't actually have any other expenditure under my ABN, maybe in the long run its not worth it. (Or maybe I terminate before the member fee kicks in...?)
any wisdom appreciated.
thanks.

Via HK on Cathat it's 276k via Dubai with Qantas/Emirates about 20k less but tbe taxes are considerably higher ($700 vs $1300).

You can terminate before the end of the first year. If you are doing it for the points only, I'd suggest that option. No point in paying extra annual fees if you won't get any value from it. As long as you have a valid ABN, it is fair game.
It will cost you $50 for the first 10k, plus a purchase with a partner for the next 10k.
eg. I just bought some tea at $3.20 from Staples. There is an offer for free shipping atm.
So that will get me a total of 20,006 Aquire points - for a total of $53.20. I will also earn points from my cc as well.
Aquire points transfer to QFF at a ratio of 1:1.
If that's not a good deal, then I don't know what is.

Done! Now we need some paper and a new wallchart planner for next year. I also used ISelect recently because I was unhappy with Medibank Private (probably played into their hands by leaving at an age when they'd be likely to start paying out more) and surprisingly got 5290 points in my QFF account - nice suprise as I (was) about 10k short for a return J class points trip for 2 of us to Europe. I knew about Aquire but hadn't really looked at it in detail.

So you got your bonus partner points already? thought it takes 8 weeks?

thanks for the reply, I feel more confident now. I obviously have to learn how to think like a Frequent Flyer!

I don't think payment details are stored? So after a year im guessing if you don't pay, you're out!

I recall when signing up that payment details WERE stored and you will be debited in 12 months if you do nothing.

Hmm... I honestly can't recall. I thought it directed to an external payment system?

Signed up today but have not received activation email yet. I thought this would have been instant?
(Yes, I checked the junk mail folder and even the webmail spam folder)

Just paid for this evening's parking in Melbourne for $4.50! That is actually a bargain!!

Can't believe it's an 8 week wait for genuine earn. I can understand the bonus... But for the dollars spent that seems a bit excessive
