Seems to me that you can't be charged for a purchase that was not completed! Have they refunded your fees?
I have mentioned that in my email response to them tonight.
I took the liberty of familiarising myself with the terms and conditions before I responded to you. You linked me to the Storage King "Aquire" terms and the Aquire "Storage King" terms on 2 different webpages, where I didn't find any words to the effect that moving items into storage was necessary to complete purchase. Additionally, if the purchase wasn't completed, I assume I'll be getting a full refund?
Your terms and conditions for the Storage King - Aquire promotion do not include a definition of what a current membership is, and I repeat again, do not say what you think they say, namely that I must move in my items to complete the purchase. In fact, on the back of my rental agreement, which I'm sure you have a copy of, I can clearly see that under "section 1 The Storer (a) "may" store Goods in the space allocated..." which doesn't hold any legal weight for me to actually follow through with an action. If you had intended for me to store something to complete the purchase, the wording should have been "shall".
I have taken this matter up with Aquire, as it is clear that you are attempting to change the terms and conditions after launching it because you haven't worded it correctly. That's not my problem, but I certainly wont be rolling over. I bought storage, complied with the terms and conditions on both websites and the forms I signed. Now it's time for you to adhere to the terms and conditions you provided, in order to gain my business.
I look forward to you crediting the points to my account sooner rather than later.
Aquire got back to me this afternoon with no word yet, but they're continuing to do whatever it is they would do in this situation. I presume that means they're going to look into the terms themselves and weigh up the potential fallout from SK shafting a whole bunch of people who have complied with poorly written T&C's.
