I am looking to book a round the world trip with Qantas and normally I would just book with Qantas. However the daughter of a friend has started working with Flight Centre and I wanted to put some business her way. I said if the price was the same I would book it through her. I have just got the quote and it is exactly the same price which is fine, but to use my amex to pay for it would be an extra 2.97% (over $1,000). The only thing I can find on the Qantas site is a $30 per passenger per trip fee for international and $7 for domestic? Does anyone know how this would work with a round the world?

So would it be CBR-SYD = $7 x 2
SYD-LHR $30 x 2
LAX-SYD $30 x 2
SYD-CBR $7 x 2 total = $148

or does it include the non Qantas legs as well, or some totally other figure!

Thanks for any help - I am sure you guys know!

I have booked about 4 DONE4 trips in the past online with Qantas. No credit card fees at all. Paid for with ANZ QFF card for 2.5 points per dollar.

Also, you can get Flight Centre to price match Qantas or someone else and then they waive their cc fees.

Thanks that was what I was planning to do, but wanted to make sure I knew what I was talking about - I can confirm that no CC fees are charged by Qantas on a round the world ticket.

I booked a trip on Qantas from SYD to NYC in June.
Flights and accommodation were through Flight Centre. No credit card fees charged on the entire booking using my AMEX.

Flight Centre have the option to charge or not charge the fees,
One i went to say they would have to charge fees to "match" what the airline would end up charging. Another said as part of their price match guarantee they would waive them.
So its totally up to the person you see.
When i booked i even got about $70 off the sale fare from the Qantas website. Although i did book Y+ flights.
