Newbie here - not sure if this will be a duplicate post as cant find my previous one!

I want to use 420,000 ANZ Reward Points to contribute to a return Sydney-coughet Business Class trip for 2.

Initial digging suggests I can only cover one leg in business (110,000 KrisFlyer points=330,000 ANZ points) so I would probably do the return leg overnight in business class.

Does anyone have any experience with Krisflyer points? All new to me so open to suggestions or alternatives for better use of the ANZ points.

Thanks

Hello and welcome to AFF,

Sorry I don't understand what you mean by "I would probably do the return leg overnight in business class."

Do you mean you will purchase the return leg outright?

and yes the ANZ rewards conversion rate to Krisflyer is pretty horrendous although they did have a 20% bonus on transfers back in November. Not sure if it was a one off or a regular occurrence.

Maybe you can research Velocity options to coughet and consider transferring to them? They also don't have fuel fines (YQ) on award flights AFAIK..

Hi and thanks. I mean use the points to pay for a business class flight for 2 on one leg and pay for economy leg outright.

Angus it sounds like the ANZ CC is pretty ordinary for Kris Flyer. We have done well with Citi and Westpac and we are happy flyers. Citi is more than a little quirky with the process of getting their best credit cards.

One way trip paying by $ could catch you.

Have you checked ?

One way award is alright as it will be priced as one-way (with SQ).

How about buying two upgradeable return economy fares. Then use the miles to upgrade the two desired legs with the taxes having been paid on the tix purchase.

The catch with the original suggestion is that the one way return tix will not be that well priced. ie one way tix are usually sold at ful price, where as a return tix might be 1.2 times the one way fare.
