No change to the way it works, just swipe the QFF card, extra points appear separately.

Sniff, didn't happen for me. The 4000 bonus was for the very long ago special, and was just included for amusement :)
I shall keep a better watch and think about what to do if it happens again

Thanks again

Ring QF as you should get them.

If you have any services with Optus make sure you sign up for QFF points - nice little earner without having to change any of your spend.

Granted, it won't get you a J ticket but a few hundred points here and there can always help.

I would tend to agree with the person who posted a question about actually being able to use points in December, even if we were having this conversation about December next year and you started your planning now....

I don't like your chances

thanks for all the help guys!
We have compromised.
Ill fly a return JASA - HWNTBA (I looked it up special) will fly YASA outbound and JASA inbound because I will have enough points in the account for this in the next few days and I don't need to stress about anything. It is a bit harsh so we might both fly over economy.... but If I am in J we both get the lounge access which would be nice.
I have found some nice fares on the ASA pricing and as I said its time off that we both have so there would be no leave to be requested/approved. Being in between Christmas and NYE I want to get it locked in before the next school holidays so we don't miss out.

But we are both really excited. And its from the help and advice of everyone on this forum.

I think I need to start a general thank you thread!

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

;) You are going to be busy getting enough points to use at Xmas, I doubt you could get J award fares at that time in any event. Perhaps look at Points plus pay. How many points do you have and what do you need for a classic fare to where?

Hi everyone,
I know my question is not totally related, but I need to earn QFF 40 status credit points before 20th Sept. I am not flying internationally again until October but have a domestic to Adelaide in 2 weeks. Any suggestions?

I think you mean a JASA, points + pay as Qantas calls using a normal booking but paying with points is horrible value.

Where are you based? Do you have points that can be used for a JASA?

Hi Gizzard
I fly from Sydney.
I have about 112,000 points. What do you mean by JASA?

From the abbreviations thread: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ions/abbreviations-and-explanations-5056.html
JASA: Qantas Frequent Flyer "Any Seat Award" in Business class (earns SC's) ie an excellent way to earn a few extra SCs

As you only need 40 SCs you could book a JASA to anywhere from SYD and a cheap flight back. Eg SYD-MEL JASA = 40 SC or -BNE or -CBR etc

This thread should help you:

Do you know anyone in business, as you could make their payments to the ATO for monthly or quarterly business taxes (ie PAYG / BAS) via AMEX & they could re imburse you - but a card fee of 1.45% applies

Hi Guys,

I am sure it is else where but I can't find actual information I can find past discussions and current about the results but not the how to.

I have a ANZ QFF Platinum Visa/Amex - and spend with Amex where possible

I have everyday rewards, but we generally eat out and our monthly shop would be under 250 (more likely less than 100)

I need to get 44k points asap to book in some J flights for Christmas break - no point flying y because it is almost the same price, and 2 decent flight legs... and well I'd like to fly in J...

I have see some topics on the Everyday rewards bonus... every week I get an EDM offer and I click activate but I always delete the email right after and usually forget what it was for but we don't eat that much food at home...

We have some flights - as some of you may be aware - but I don't want to wait until DEC to try book flights and hotel for Christmas break.
Anyone have any good tips on how to get some decent points??

I am needing 45k ... not sure how to get these quickly.

And just in case it is someones suggestion - I do not have any friends or family who travel, of the few I can think of that have taken flights I know that none of them are QFF members so I can't just beg borrow or steal any. I need to earn.

I also activated and delete but now take a photo on Iphone of the EDR page, so when out shopping view the photo..;)

I have a separate email account (google) that syncs from my phone.
I FWD the activated emails to that account so it's on my phone when I shop.
I use that gmail account ONLY for things I FWD to myself, so as never to receive spam traffic on the phone account.

Also good for anniversary and birthday reminders, to keep me out of trouble with she who must be obeyed !

Cheers !

Paying things like water rates, shire rates, electricity, gas, land taxes,telephone,butcher,greengrocer,pharmac_,gift cards are all easily done on a true point a dollar card as a minimum starting point. Visa and MasterCards that are helpful are Woolworths Everyday,Qantas Staff credit union,HSBC Platinum,BankWest Platinum,JetStar Credit and Citi Business.
Then there's room to pay insurance, car running and a whole host of other day to day bills that roll in the door.

the woolworths app on my smartphone shows me what my current offer is, and it shows me what's on special that I usually buy. Also can be used to see what aisle a product is in at your local store

Maybe I'm a little naive here, but wouldn't you have to spend a lot of money to get there 45k points. Surely it would almost be a case of spending more money than you would gain!

A couple of credit card applications would result in the points for the cost of an annual fee, so not much at all. If something were to come up like the famous Macro run at woolworths, $621 would be the cost to get 45000 points (although some may say the true cost would be having to eat the food you bought), this can be effectively halved through a tax deductible donation to charity of the food.
