Hi Guys,

I am sure it is else where but I can't find actual information I can find past discussions and current about the results but not the how to.

I have a ANZ QFF Platinum Visa/Amex - and spend with Amex where possible

I have everyday rewards, but we generally eat out and our monthly shop would be under 250 (more likely less than 100)

I need to get 44k points asap to book in some J flights for Christmas break - no point flying y because it is almost the same price, and 2 decent flight legs... and well I'd like to fly in J...

I have see some topics on the Everyday rewards bonus... every week I get an EDM offer and I click activate but I always delete the email right after and usually forget what it was for but we don't eat that much food at home...

We have some flights - as some of you may be aware - but I don't want to wait until DEC to try book flights and hotel for Christmas break.
Anyone have any good tips on how to get some decent points??

I am needing 45k ... not sure how to get these quickly.

And just in case it is someones suggestion - I do not have any friends or family who travel, of the few I can think of that have taken flights I know that none of them are QFF members so I can't just beg borrow or steal any. I need to earn.

Pay more attention to your EDR offers, not hard off some to earn 44k (make sure everyone in the house has a card and then go and buy a select and macro item on each one;) ). Check the caller masters thread for a 1K bonus with wine that is not limited to one order, etc etc.

Hi Guys,

I have see some topics on the Everyday rewards bonus... every week I get an EDM offer and I click activate but I always delete the email right after and usually forget what it was for but we don't eat that much food at home.

I also activated and delete but now take a photo on Iphone of the EDR page, so when out shopping view the photo..;)

The offers always appear in the apps, and can be activated as well. Also have a look at points bonuses for signing up to a new CC, HSBC and woolies have good bonuses.

When eating out, try to pick as many restaurants as you can that are partnered with Qantas, you can get 3 points per dollar that way.

Check to see if citibank busines gold visa is still giving a 40,000 point sign on on bonus. It is a good earning card to - 1.25 points per $.

Are there any cards with sign on bonuses.

That could go towards a large chunk of the points needed.

Onepath points bonus won't hit the account before December so that's a waste of time.
From memory, my Macquarie Bank term deposit paid points straight off (with a recovery mechanism if I subsequently cancelled the term deposit). They pay about 6pc more than I was getting in my lazy Freedom account so happy both ways!

I would have thought the obvious answer would be to sign up to one or more new credit cards with a sign on bonus. Have a look around here: Current Credit Card Promotions

One of the QF Amex's is likely to provide 20-30K I would have thought. Other ideas might be to pre-pay some Tax with the ATO, using the EDR card thats likely to reap a point / dollar (though be cautious of any business use with this card).

yep, credit card sign on bonuses are something to consider

here is one example:

1)sign on for Qantas Amex express premium. Get 7500 points

2)refer a friend you get 7500 and the friend (presumably you have someone to share points with) gets 12,000 points

And/or Qantas Credit union currently have a 30k points sign on bonus, and citiselect has a 50k sign on bonus (down from the recent rather wonderful 80k)

Thanks guys, I'll have a look.

My problems for the credit cards are - I don't earn very much, and if you asked pay roll I earn less... so I don't qualify for the better of the promos.
I wish I had a reason to take up some of the offers I have seen..

I will have a look at cellar masters, we dont drink so I don't really go out exploring. But I can get some as gifts and the like.

Our problem really is that we do very little spending. Don't have many bills.. eating out, groceries, bills but its all under 400 a month.
We don't earn big figures, but we also don't have many or huge expenses. So we have money to spend on what we want as well as saving....

My partner is a team leader and now has a company cc so we set that up for rewards that can be transferred to QFF but he never gets to spend on the big things. He came home impressed that he spent 750 on a lunch, next day comes home sad because someone else used their corporate card to pay for 6k worth of off site training. I've told him to steal/cancel the other cards so that the good purchases get put on his... :)

Great idea - he needs to go have a work lunch at the QFF member in North Sydney (where we live and work) GREAT idea guys!!!
Doesn't cost me anything and hopefully a decent amount of points (I think we only have 2 in North Sydney though!!).

Thanks guys, I knew talking it out would come up with some good ideas!!

Another thing to consider is there likely won't be any cheap award availability in December, being peak travel season. If you do get the points, will you actually be able to use them when you want?

Epiqure members get extra points at restaurants.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

OOOH, I wasn't aware of that thanks, so I just had a look

In SA these seem to be the same restaurants as show up on the Qantas app. A Slightly different list to the Q web site I think

How is the epiqure points reward process different to the Qantas one where 3 points are given?

Does it just happen automatically when QFF card is used per Qantas program?

Thanks in advance

No change to the way it works, just swipe the QFF card, extra points appear separately.
