Anyone lost their 747? Maybe you left it parked in KUL.....

Re: Are you missing something?

My bet is that Bronwyn Bishop had a wedding invite in KUL .

Re: Are you missing something?

On FT its suggested all 3 were purchased by a Malaysian startup who went bust .

Re: Are you missing something?

These airplanes are safer on the ground than in the air.

Re: Are you missing something?

They should tow one of them landside and turn it into an airport hotel. A unique yet simple solution to their problem.

That's quite a good idea.
It has already been done somewhere and I believe it is quite popular.

They have no value, which is why they've been dumped. I'd expect the 'owners' have also disappeared into the night.

So, if I were interested in (legally) disposing of my aircraft, what kind of costs would I be up for?

All depends on whether they are in a flyable state. Then you got to get it to Victorville and try and spare part or scrap it

Re: Are you missing something?

Agree that would be one for the true aviation nutters (I mean fan). Also perhaps a airport museum would be another fun way to make those most of this dump.

Turn them into play equipment for big & little kids alike.

They've turned an aircraft into a hostel. A 747-212B which was abandoned at ARN.
Turning one (or all three) of these into a 2 or 3 star hotel would be new.

As long as I don't get a 'bed' in economy.
