I have been trying almost daily to see if I can book Sydney to Dubai with Emirates anytime next year (Jan through to April) and it keeps coming back saying zero availability for any class of seats. I have tried doing a direct search and utilising the multi city search.

It's like Qantas/Emirates are not or have not released any seats in 2023 or they have all been snapped up!

The below error/warning is what I keep getting

Have just tried a booking using my wife's WP account, just on 23JAN23, and not an error message, but a similar response as above...

I started searching 340 days out and can't find a single seat for any date in 2023. I wonder if it's any different if you call up but I really don't want to be on hold for over an hour.

I was able to snap up 2 seats in November this year to Dubai in Business but theres literally no flights in 2023 which seems odd.

I have been searching for months. Have outbound to Europe with EK in Nov but there are no reward seats at all. There were 24 and 25 Dec available for a while but nothing else at all inbound to Aus.

I got two EK F award seats from Perth to Toronto, booked July 2021 at event horizon. I monitor premium availability daily from and to Austra;lia and it is not good from the major ports. Sometimes you have to be creative.

There are certainly issues with availability, but I believe the Qantas website also has a bug at the moment with certain type of searches to/from DXB.

@Jacques Vert, did you have a workaround for this?

I believe it's inbound flights from DXB to Australia that *aren't showing on the Qantas website* (at least when searching in a certain way).

Do you have a workaround at all?

I just double checked, and the error occurs when you search for flights ex DXB using the multi-city tool. But if you have a different origin (not Dubai) for the first flight in your multi-city search, you can search for a flight from Dubai as the second (or another subsequent) sector. E.g. search LHR-DXB as flight 1 and DXB-MEL as flight 2.

Flights from Dubai are showing when you search for regular one-way or return flights. Some dates have no flights available as Classic Rewards, but there are a few out there (mostly in Y - e.g. DXB-MEL on 15 March 2023 has availability).

I can't get this to work. ☹️ SYD-DXB-MCT for example throws up an HTTP 400 error. So does SYD-DXB and SYD-MCT.

Have you tried just doing a simple one-way search for DXB-MCT (I assume that's what you're looking for)?

I can see availability for next year...

I still can’t see anything and get the #9207 error

No, I need to travel ex-SYD. Basically any routing involving EK/DXB is giving me that error. ☹️

The only thing I can think of is to search for individual one-way flights and then call Qantas to make a multi-city booking using what you've found. Yes, I know that's a pain :(

I called the QF contact centre today to book QF flights on EK metal using a voucher which was generated owing to a residual value on another booking. Despite the flights showing as available on the QF website the agent was unable to book them. This was for a one way ticket ex MEL to DUB via DXB. I wonder could this be related to the issue identified by the OP?

This has happened to me too. I wonder if EK are going to pull out of the alliance with QF. They haven’t released any seats for December or January and most of February but have for March. It’s really odd.

I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this same issue. Have tried different browsers and different computers but all have the same result. Never had an issue booking award flights on EK before.
