Anyone actually made a booking with Virgin recently?

For a company that is in the guts of financial trouble, you'd think Virgin would actually be wanting people to give them their money. My in-laws, wife and I have each tried to make the following bookings on separate devices in separate locations.

NTL-MEL in the week after Christmas (pre-lockdown 2.0). Entered in CC details, and got an internal error message. No money taken, no flight booked. By the time they went through the process again - flight was close to $900 for economy.

MEL-TSV for April 2021. Selected flights, entered details, and got an internal error message again.

NTL-CBR for March 2021. Selected flights, and got an internal error message.

The in-laws even tried calling Virgin to buy NTL - MEL to book in July 2021. They spoke with someone, got a price that was $150 higher than the website, and when the in-laws questioned the difference in price - they were hung up on.

Each of us lost between $500 - $1k when they went into administration, and only got a paltry amount back in future flight credit. On face value; it's safe to say none of us are close to ever flying with Virgin again.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with Virgin recently?

The website still has gremlins. Clear cookies and cache for virginaustralia.com and go from there. Or try an incognito window in Chrome.

I successfully made a VA points booking yesterday. But the clunky website reminded me why I prefer QF.

made 3 separate bookings over the last 3 days ( 1 for next week and 2 in early Feb ), no problems at all.

Have only been booking to burn up credits and travel bank which has been clunky and required manual VA intervention as well when one didn’t work.... Yup their website needs a lot of work but that’s been an issue for a long time... nothing new....

Recently booked my free Amex flight to SYD in a few weeks. The question now is can / will I be able to go and how any cancellation might be handled.

Talking about the problems some colleagues are facing, with "complicated" bookings.
My booking ADL - BNE, made in Nov, no problems, for Jun this year, has been ok, (touch wood).
But now, its all gone downhill, the system can't even keep up with ADL - MEL/SYD, overnight, MEL/SYD - ZQN, for the next day.
The laptop I am using is new, and all other websites, even QF, I haven't had any issues.
But with VA, and this website of theirs, its keeps hanging, ie, only half the fares show, and then it hangs there, half the screen is blank, just pure white, and nothing happens.
This is for my (backburner trip/plans at the moment), to NZ seeing that their (NZ) borders would most likely open to us Aussies "soon", but VA is making pricing very hard, no problems with doing an overnight transit, ADL - MEL/SYD then ZQN the next day.
Looks like I will also have to veer to QF for the east coast to NZ trip, once we get confirmation of "cross the ditch border bubble opening".

No problems here either, two separate bookings HBA-BNE using Chrome on Desktop computer. Even managed to change dates for one of them. ;)
