With Virgin Australia and our international airline partners, you can redeem Points to over 500 destinations worldwide.

It's only fair that a frequent flyer program allows you to redeem your Points for the seat you want, when you want it. At Velocity Frequent Flyer, we offer the best Reward Seat availability of any program in the Asia Pacific Region, and if you can't find the Reward Seat you want with us or our international airline partners, you can now redeem for any seat, on any airline, anywhere. How?

You can redeem an Any Seat, Any Airline flight simply by calling the Velocity Frequent Flyer Membership Contact Centre at least 7 days prior to the desired date of departure. (Subject to terms of use)

Soo... can I redeem on QF? :p

I assume Any Seat Awards will earn status credits and miles in the corresponding frequent flyer program(s).

Looks like tickets need to be booked through the service centre. Wonder how much a point is worth, e.g. 0.01 AUD/point?

Was told tonight by the redemptions team that the burn rate is 20,000 pts = $150.00

I thought I'd see how this arrangement works on QF flights vs QFF anyseat rewards and although dearer it's still handy to have as a feature.

Good question... Does anyone know if DJ's ASA earns points and status credits like QF's ASA?

I made an 'any seat any airline' booking in October and earned points. Essentially DJ converts your points into $$$ and makes a revenue booking on the GDS. They claim they add a note in the booking that it's a rewards booking so no points are awarded but my flight was booked into a proper revenue bucket and posted within a week.

I've also made an ASA booking on delta and these points posted too but ymmv..

That would be the exception not the rule.

One rule is that if points post like that, one should keep very very quiet about it lest they be taken away.

Generally on the ASA front i'd agree with you- best to keep quiet but I do believe in sharing experiences too. If DJ are so petty as to take a few hundred points from my account so be it.

With any seat any airline though I can't see how these flights wouldn't earn points. If DJ books a revenue seat on the GDS with say Aegean in M class, as far as Aegean is concerned I've paid $$$ through a travel agency just like any other customer and their FFP (or any other star alliance one) would award points accordingly. We even have the scenario that with 'any seat any airline' I can book a qantas domestic flight
(for sometimes less points than a DJ ASA) and earn points in QFF on that booking (and have done so) yet earn nothing when redeeming points on DJ's own metal.

So 40k are worth 300$. Not a lot but I have these points randomly in my account and can't really use them for anything. I could buy a reasonably priced PEK-HKG-BKK on CX China Website. Question is what will Velocity use to price this? Because a GDS will come up with 2.5x the price CX website has. :x

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
