I generally tend to make my bookings through Amex travel for FHR reservations, or via our travel desk for business related travels. If I don't go through these channels, I make the bookings directly with the hotel or airline to get maximum benefits out of my status.

I have been pretty happy with this approach so far as Amex travel are very reliable and their FHR benefits are fairly consistent across the globe. I've made a few Virtuoso bookings previously however these were all considered 'once-off' so I used any random Virtuoso travel agent (most likely based in US) to make a booking and forgot it about it soon after the stay.

But my travel pattern is changing a bit as I'm now going overseas on leisure travel at least once every 2nd months so I'm looking for a Virtuoso agent that I could sort of build a relationship with, preferably based in Australia.

I've googled a couple agents and they all look great on paper but I'm hoping some AFF members could share their experiences with any Virtuoso travel agents that they can recommend. The Australia based location is only a preference so if there is anyone outstanding overseas, I'll still be interested in hearing about them.

Given that you can mix Virtuoso benefits with other chain benefits such as PenClub, I'd really be only looking at a Virtuoso agent that also has affiliations with these programs like FSPP/PenClub/MO/SPG etc...

AFF member Travel Guru is a Virtuoso agent that I used for our trip last year. Everything was well organised, and very easy - he runs a virtual operation. He has changed partnerships just recently, but was continuing with Virtuoso . It doesn't look like he has been active of AFF recently, but you could try sending him a PM, or I can PM you his contact details if you like.

TG has full books, unfortunately IIRC. I think another on here might be a Virtuoso member.
