Any Oz to UK fare sales at Christmas?

Having researched all my options and after asking questions on this site, I have booked flights SIN-DXB-FCO and LHR-DXB-SIN on EK for ~A$1200 over the Christmas holidays. Just need to add PER-SIN-PER. I was hoping to use FF points to get to and from Singapore but there has been a s**ff up with Amex and Qantas and both the flights I wanted have now gone. Even adding A$1170 if I pay for the flights to Singapore and back, it is a pretty good deal.

I made these arrangements as I want all day time flights. If I don’t fly during the day, the trip can’t happen.

If I could bring the conversation back on topic and reiterate a few points.

1. I have no choice of dates
2. I have no choice of airlines
3. I can only choose when to buy the airfare (and I suppose who to buy it through)

I was hoping for some insider knowledge about fare movements in the months leading up to Christmas - particularly for QF/BA. In a nutshell I don't want to reward their greed too much, whilst understanding that they have a duty to their shareholders to screw the pax for all they can get.

I would expect sooner is better. Frankly you may end up holding out for a sale that never comes.

Basically the deal is as been posted earlier on.

Other posts have endeavored to advise on how to avoid such higher cost.

Since you have no choice in dates or airline then you will need to accept the facts that fares are high ex Australia at the time of year and lock your travel in ASAP.
