Any news on transit restrictions in ADL when going to ASP?
Qantas reservations was no help (Contact government).
The NT government 1800 number is not accessible from WA.
The Adelaide airport has no transit information (that I found).

SO -
If we transit ADL, what are the current NT restrictions?
The trip is not worth it as 14 day quarantine would be longer than the trip (return is direct to PER)

Please help with the wandering

.

See Point 4.
You should be okay as long as you're not leaving the airport. Expect delays at ASP though as they've just got 6 counters set up to deal with entire plane loads of pax...

There are really four moving parts to this and the airline doesn't care about your border entries.

1. Will the flights still operate. Qantas has removed a few frequencies in/out of Adelaide and I suspect after today's announcements a few more will be cut so I'd have a backup plan in place flying via somewhere else if needed.

2. The SA gov will let you transit but if you're transiting for a few hours then it's worth applying for a border permit to enter SA then you can actually walk around the terminal. Otherwise, they'll keep you in a holding area maned by the police for the entire transit time. This could all change with today's restrictions and they may make it harder to get an entry permit but this remains to be seen.

3. The NT gov will let you into the NT but you need to prove that you only stayed in the airport so be prepared to show a same day boarding pass from PER-ADL and then your ADL-ASP pass when you enter the NT. 6 desks at Alice is much more than the 3 they had set up in Darwin but be aware this process takes some time.

4. If you return to WA in the next 14 days after you've transited through SA then you will be required to meet the exemption categories and self-isolate for 14 days. This is because the WA government considers transiting through an airport to have been in that hotspot.

You would be better off doing PER-ASP if available or PER-DRW-ASP or PER-BNE-ASP. None of these would trigger isolation nor quarantine in the NT nor in WA on the return. As you have noted your trip is < 14 days and that means you will have been in SA (WA consider airports to be a hotspot) in the previous 14 days. That means you will require an exemption to enter WA, resident or not.

The PER-DRW flight arrives 90 minutes after the DRW-ASP leaves......
(on the days it flies) forcing two tickets.
Hopefully because of the ADL lock down and WA treatment of an ADL transit as visiting a "hotspot" I can get a "travel credit" if it comes to that.

The PER-ASP fares all permit transit via DRW, even overnight. You would be under 24 hours and therefore it'd price as a single fare basis (this applies to any domestic fare at the moment).

You can absolutely fly MEL-BNE, overnight (<= 24 hours), then fly BNE-DRW for example as a single fare rather than two fares.

Here is what it looks like when it's a single fare basis:

Well in the QF solved the problem for me by cancelling the PER-ADL flight and rescheduling to an impossible connection time.
The Premium Desk was very helpful and wife's award ticket confirmation should also be somewhere in internet space on the way as well. In this case the controlling factor for re-routing was the less than 24 hour connection.

Now to get a hotel room (with transfers)

Have you rebooked via Adelaide or Darwin?

I guess it's no longer an issue entering the NT as after 9am tomorrow they won't list anywhere in SA as a hotspot.

The issue is neither SA (who don't care if you transit and is open to all except VIC) nor NT (transiting a hotspot state is fine if you don't leave the airport). The issue is WA... WA considers SA to be a hotspot and that means self isolation for 14 days on re-entry to WA due to being in ADL in the last 14 days.

Overnight in DRW..... as per MadRooster but my dates
Hopefully the airport hotel still has a courtesy shuttle at 0530.....
