I nibbled on a crumb for myself and a supplementary crumb for my wife...

I got one for myself, and got my significant other to also apply for one herself. It doesn't cost any more, and we end up with extra lounge visits at a minimum :)

ahh thanks everyone

have applied, am hoping it will get approved,

the only bit that stumped me was under the rewards program section, it only allowed me to choose citi rewards ,and QFF wasnt there

I asked live help and they assured me that I have to apply for Qantas direct once I activate my account!

Fingers crossed! dont want to have a credit hit for a card im going to throw out

for the record, my credit is pretty clean, only 1-2 mortgage enquires about 1 year ago, and no other defaults or enquires,

plus income of $85k with one mortgage

Am assuming you applied for the card from that link I mentioned, and not from the Citibank homepage links? Because its only through that link that you'll get the annual fee waived. Just checking, so you have no nasty surprises.

certainly hope I did, I am 99% sure I did, just a bit surprised the QFF option wasnt included,

QFF option was probably not there as then the card would not be truly fee-free.
But if you get the fee-free card (for Citi-rewards, which are very good IMHO) you should be able to "upgrade" to QF rewards for the modest annual fee of $40 or so (I cant quite remember the exact amount). My guess is you would need to call Citibank when you activate the card (ideally) or later (when you may have to forfeit any Citirewards points that you have not already redeemed).
