Any communications techs out there?

With iinet for my phone and internet, all of sudden yesterday morning could not receive emails or receive tel calls, checked everything but to no avail, IInet say no outages in my area? checked all plugs, checked the modem etc..don't know what else to do, turned everything off and back on but still no luck..anyone got any ideas?

Have you actually spoken to iiNet or just checked for outages in the area? Suggest you call them and they can test your line. Just because there's no general outages it doesn't mean your specific line is working.

If on NBN - likely faulty line or modem.

If on ADSL - first check if you have a dial tone, no dial tone (assuming not a naked service) then likely line fault. If you have dial tone then either a faulty ADSL service or faulty modem.

Thanks yes spoke to them a few times, just called again and they have said there is a Telstra outage that may go for 5 days or maybe fixed by tomorrow !!..anyway at least I know now that there is an issue, before that no one wanted to confirm
