Any ALL Accor Reward activity now extends points balance

I'm hoping for the same email to arrive. i booked a refundable night at a local Mercure today just in case I need it.

Gold and above has been extended (and should show in your account) to 15-12-2022
Silver expiry will recommence from 15-12-2021
No Status = No extension (other than pleading your case to Accor CS)

Yup, I'm silver. I have had to cancel quite a few bookings this year due to COVID lockdowns, so I do think some leniency should be shown.
 
Received the same email last week but it’s pretty much useless as we stayed at the Sofitel again the day before so our points were safe until next December anyway 🤣
 
If I were to book nights to use up the points that are expiring on Sat (no response from Accor after several attempts) and then cancel the bookings at a later date, would I get those points back?
