The Ansett East West thread got my thinking about airlines I have flown that have gone out of business. I was suprised how many there were.

Ansett
East West
Kendell

North America

Canadian Pacific
Pan Am

Western
Eastern
Southern

Swissair

What now defunct airlines have you flown?

You might be able to add OzJet to your list later this year.

But I hope not!

Hey Alan. why do you say US Airways (a Star Alliance carrier)?

Now that they are shacked up with AW, I think they will do OK.

Perhaps you should have said Independence Air.

:)

Locally:

- Ansett
- Impulse
- East West
- Oxley (brave, I know....).
- Aeropelican @ BEO (it's just not the same out of NTL with no Twotters)

Globally:

- United
- Delta
- That little 1900D operator that QF was aligned with in NZ (?)

Ansett
Eastwest
Impulse
Ansett NZ
Compass
Tamair

And amazing I'm still here with these ones.....

Oxley
Majestic
Southern Pacific (used to operate on codeshare with Ansett Express)
Coast to Coast (Used to do Tmw - Arm - Lsy - Bne)

:? Is the same Delta Air Lines that began operations in 1924 and is now the second largest carrier of passengers in the world behind American Airlines :?:

Or is there another Delta that I have not heard about :?:

But still operating :?:

The OP suggested airlines that have gone out of business and the title suggest airlines that are now defunct.

So Delta has not gone out of business nor is it defunct.
