Just landed in from VIE to an email from QF for 50% bonus SCs for flights booked in next 7 days through to March 2018.

Tempted for a DXB run to the warmth and some handy SCs.

Y'know I have a suggestion for everyone who gets these emails....

Go to the QF site... if it's on the spash pages then it's likely a global offer available to everyone and thus of interest to AFF members in general.. if not, it's likely targeted to you under whatever criteria QF Loytlay use to target such things.

I had one (targeted) about a month ago - which was handy because I had a bunch of golden triangle trips to book. The only real criteria I could fathom was that i was about 3 months out from my anniversary date (31 Jan) and maybe, just maybe within spitting distance of WP if I really hammered it with flexible fares or an overseas jaunt.

It's probably been done on numerous previous threads, but a bit of datapoint collection of when in a member's annual cycle these offers come would be interesting. Oh and number of SCs required to hit next status when the offers get targeted.

I've had two or three targeted offers in the past year or so. Each time, I had been logged into the Qantas site and was doing some dummy bookings to - for example - Bangkok, looking at options for a potential trip, but didn't end up going through with it. A day or two later Qantas sent me an email with a subject along the lines of "Book your flights to Bangkok, and we'll give you 50% bonus status credits". Per the body of the email, the offer was Qantas-wide, not just for the destination I was searching.
The most recent of these, I was half way through my membership year, with a grand total of zero status credits.

As a data point, I am in my 2nd month of the qualification year, have 300SCs so 900SCs to requalify for platinum, have flown only BA so no QF flights this year, went on QFF website to check SC creditting but have made no dummy bookings, my account is listed in UK currently.

My offer came in on Monday morning, headlined "Fly to Brisbane, 50% more status credits" but the text of the email is not destination specific, so I am unsure what will happen. Book until Dec 3, travel Nov 27 to Mar 27, 2018. As a further data point:

current status: Gold (for four or five years, always just scraping in with slightly more than the required 600 SCs)
membership year ends Sep 30, 2018
currently on 395 SCs, with only one forward booking, a Y family trip to Europe on EK (QF codeshare flights), so no real hope of making Platinum unless I do a status run.

As I needed to book flights for the first quarter 2018 anyway and pricing to Perth and Brisbane was acceptable, I made a few bookings and it will be interesting if I get bonus SCs for the Brisbane flights only, or for all.

On another note, the week before that I received an offer for double points for bookings to China, including HK. Haven't been there since 2015 but used to go annually, no idea why I was selected for this promotion. Did not book.

I received a similar targeted offer 2 weeks ago - I had spent about 30 minutes logged into the QF site searching for Business fares to SIN, but didn’t book anything.

A few days later I got the targeted offer with the email subject specifically mentioning Singapore.

Qantas appears to send out these offers more frequently now. I received a similar offer a few weeks ago.

I've been doing dummy runs for US travel in Feb for about the last month and nothing for me so far. Could really use a boost.....

Well i just got mine.
useless to me though. Need to book in hte next 7 days for travel till March. Im all set at retaining this year and April is my reset.

Fingers and everything crossed for a DSC next year.

The 8 March end date timing is a bit of a bummer. Have already booked my January long weekend away. Oh well.

Also, did anyone actually get a registration confirmation email after clicking through to register, or just the confirmation landing page on the QF web site?
