What date?. So maybe other fan see if it is indeed a 737 or 787.
I'd be surprised to see a 787 on anything that isn't QF9. Are the domestic gates at MEL even setup for 787s?
I've flown on a 787 out of MEL domestic several times.

But then why the different (ie: what looks like a 737 seat map) seat map configuration in the second image in your post that you sourced from the app?
You'd have to ask QF that question. My flight to MEL is on a 737 with 6C as my seat. It looks like that's just followed through to the next screen.
