Looks like Sept is a popular time for 100% promos.

Fall is just around the corner. Your next award vacation can be, too. Buy or gift Dividend Miles® between now and September 30, 2014 and get up to 100% more – up to 50,000 bonus miles.

Whether it's your travel plans or a loved one's that need a boost, this month's bonus offer delivers more miles for less.

Indeed - I got the email too and it's just like the last one. Only difference is that there is a 25% bonus tier for purchases of less than 10,000 miles.

It still asks for your name and US DM number before you can use the buy/gift portal, so my guess is that it is a targeted promotion.

Nope. Available to all.

Is it 50k bonus all around including gifting?

Hmmm... odd then that they still make you log in with name and number. There's really no point if everyone can do it. Unless the offer varies subtly with each member.

I'm not sure what that means, but I'm going to answer 'yes'. Remember that the bonus capping is counted against the recipient of the bonus.

If you gift 50k each to accounts A, B, C and D, they will all end up with (50k gifted miles + 50k bonus miles = ) 100k miles. In turn, however, if they purchase any more miles for themselves (or gift amongst themselves) during the same promotional period, they will not receive any bonus miles on those transactions because their bonus has been used up.

Thanks for interpreting through my gibberish. Its getting a bit late! :)

This could be the 'perfect storm' for someone to craft a multi airline travel plan. I'm gonna spend a little time putting some figures together.

As I understand it the maximum any one account can get under this deal is 50,000 bonus miles, so someone COULD technically gift you miles, but if you had already bought some yourself then you wouldn't get the bonus

Yeah, thats my understanding as well.. Just wanted clarification.

The maximum number of Buy and Gift Bonus miles that can be received by one member for this offer is 50,000 bonus miles. All miles purchased beyond this limit will not be eligible for a bonus.

With plenty of QFF points in hand to get from OZ to the likes of HKG and about to buy some more AS miles for further travel onwards, this deal I'm offered on USAirways miles looks even better for 100K miles at USD$1750, HKG to Europe return 2 x J is 160K miles all up about USD$2800, AS was US$3300.

It seems to be a bounty on miles and bonuses at the moment - I'm sure there must be sweet spots, but for me I'm only seeing value in USDM as opposed to the others for trips starting from Australia (and intra-australia)

Big question for me is whether this the last 100% bonus before points transfer to AA. I've been holding off buying for as long as possible. There's no doubt that getting points at this cost will never happen at AA.

Re: United 100%, you need a LOT of friends. It's a bad promo.

I suspect not but do you really want to take that risk! Now what I REALLY want is another share promo!

Didn't receive the email.

For the dummies is this the promotion where miles cost ~1c/mile?
