Having attended the event I was pleased by the attentive service along with both food and beverages on offer.

I would like to thank qantas and the team that put the evening together.

Lesley spoke and spoke well without the usal corporate shall we say bias. .

So.. She never gave mentioning of the word QANTAS ? Tie Up? Shared Arrangements? & OMG.. That dreaded & often misconstrued E.. word??
Please..
But on a lighter note, though I wasn't in the 'loop or league" to savour the meeting & lunch delights, it was a nice welcomed gesture by Qantas to offer & communicate with the AFF community.
Well done Qantas.. & hope all that attended gained some further insights & it appears a lovely meal amongst like minded individuals.

Are you confusing the rockpool lunch with the frequent flyer briefing? Two totally seperate meetings.

Attended the (non) event in Melbourne last night. Nice to have a few drinks and nibbles only a few minutes from work but IMHO waste of time. Nothing of value was mentioned - not sure why they picked this particular location either. Wasn't too flashy...

Tonight in BNE at the State Library we had an elegant reception out on the terrace. Great weather for it, balmy & perfect Brisbane evening. The food was delicious & wine ( I stuck to only one of the whites) was fine. Service at this venue was just great.

Qantas had a significant selection of their Staff present. Leslie Grant head of loyalty, Stephanie Tully, formerly in loyalty & now head of marketing, Lauren Blanc marketing, Red Roo aka Trevor, and about 4 others who I didn't get to speak too. ( apologies if I got names / positions mixed or wrong).

We had plenty of time to talk. The speech covered a lot of territory. New things, plus consolidation of existing.

From Leslie's speech, the things that " lifted" for me were that:
Elites will be recognized equally with Emraites, on both airlines.
The new First lounge at LAX will have ALL the features of the SYD F Lounge.
They are working to engage their frequent flyers.

In all, a lovely evening. Thank you very much.

So the MEL one was largely a non event yet BNE had a decent evening??

I was at Melbourne and found it to be useful, if not atleast to be able to communicate some congragulations on improvements and high light opportunities for even greater service in the future

GPH and I were both invited to Brisbane event. (GPH also went to Rockpool on Tuesday). I checked and was able to take my daughter instead as GPH was away. What a lovely venue. Good food and wine. Really lovely evening. We stood outside and the weather was beautiful.

Unfortunately I haven't been on here for months and missed this thread. Wish I had known there were other AFFers there, as we left straight after Lesley finished speaking and wondered what to do with ourselves. A drink or meal afterwards would have been great.

Not sure what the criteria for invite was, but we are both self funded flyers. GPH is WP and I'm about 90 SC off WP.

Sorry to have missed meeting you at the Melbourne event, Ansett - and doubly sorry to have missed meeting ALH in Brisbane! :)

My thoughts echo Storytellers - it was a very pleasant evening with some great insights from Lesley, especially around the Emirates tie up.

Apparently the criteria was "high points earners", so likely nothing to do with status or flights taken.
