Does anyone here have recent experience/s of any of the OW Lounges in AMS.

We are flying in on CX in J and have about a 5 hour layover before a BA flight to ABZ in whY.

Is the BA lounge OK there?

As a SG QFF I have access when flying with BA, that's correct isn't it? At least thats how it was last time, but the BA site doesn't mention OW status.:?:

Thanks in Advance

As a SG, you'll indeed have access to the BA Terraces lounge at AMS - sadly, it's well below par as compared to other BA outstation lounges. The lounge is v small and there's not much in the way of food; however on the plus side the drinks selection is reasonable and the wifi is free.

For a 5 hour layover, I'd go and take a wander around the city - a return train fare ought to be cheap and it doesn't take very long to get from Schiphol to Centraal.

Hey thanks for the reply.

When you say very small, are you able to compare to a known Lounge?
eg; size of Terminal 2 lounge in SYD?
1/2 the size of CBR ?
1/4 the size of BNE

I am guessing NO showers ?

It will be a Saturday morning we are there so it might not be too bad.

Thought about the quick trip to Centraal, but I don't want to tempt fate.

I don't recall seeing showers (bear in mind this is mostly going off pre-7 a.m., pre-coffee, substantially-hungover memories). I can't think of any lounges in AU that I've been in that are a similar size; the only one that I've been in that's about the same space is the CX lounge at FRA. Maybe a quarter of the BNE Domestic QP, certainly no larger.

Given the regularity of train services in to the city, I'd certainly be considering tempting fate. :)

My recollection is three 'rooms' that were standard pre-T5 style Terraces lounge - plastic timber flooring, dark blue chairs, multi coloured crockery. Definitely smaller than CBR and BNE QP's.
I don't remember seeing a shower. Just remember it being very quiet as I was there before the first LHR flight.

Hi there!
I hope this isn't too late before your trip.

I've just returned from a 6 month stint in NL, so have dealt with the Schengen and non-Schengen lounges.
There are no showers (or toilets, for that matter) inside the BA lounge, but if you head out the door of the lounge and turn right, the toilets there do have 2 showers in them (but I'd almost certainly want to be wearing thongs if you used them, they're publicly accessible).

The Schengen lounge is a ServisAir job, but the food is better than the BA one (chips, apples, biscuits, boxed cereal) although they don't always replace it straight away. Given you're coming in on CX you won't wander in to this area (although NL immigration probably wouldn't care if you did). I'd recommend heading into the city if you have 5 hours - trains to Centraal are every 10 minutes, and is about 7 EUR return (the ticket machines at Schiphol take Visa/Mastercard for a fee) and getting back through immigration doesn't normally take more than 5 mins (security is at the gate for the non-Schengen area).
