What to book? JUNIOR SUITE, RIVER VIEW. 36sqmtrs or ARCHIVE SUITE, 33sqmtrs

Archive suite has separate bedroom and is $30 more per night but smaller in size.

And Im breaking a AFFer rule - no FF points earn if I go with this hotel but at this point, Im over freaking Amsterdam accom.

We stayed at the McGallery Ink Hotel - great digs and wonderful location. (Accor).
Did you look at the DoubleTree Hilton next to the train station? Isn't too bad a location.

Are the INK hotel rooms as cluttered as their website shows? Typewriters and opera glasses and other bits of junk all over the place? I know some call it decoration but I call it junk

thanks

We stayed at the Andaz in 2017. If you go for the riverview, make sure you are not on the 1st floor as all you can hear at night is music from the bar! Great location, nice rooms and a decent breakfast offering. Free minibar in room as well as nespresso machine. Lots of great burger places in Amsterdam too.

We stayed there last year. Excellent location, from memory around 10 minutes direct train from the airport. The location is also excellent if visiting NEMO or doing a canal cruise.

@mrs.dr.ron. Dont think I can swing Marriott so thinking around the corner from it for Hotel Vondel

Today I looked at Raddison Blu, Ink (again), Hotel Vondel, Hilton (again) and a few others. I need someone to adult and make a decision for me.

OK I think occasionally I am an adult so my pick would be Vondel.virtually next to Marriott and we found the location fine.So close to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh with trams virtually at the door to get to the city centre quickly.

Made a decision and went with Hotel Vondel in Amsterdam. I can spy the DrRon's Marriott from around the corner, wishing I was in their balcony suite room from my Vondel Jnr suite room. :)

Much smaller hotel than we're use (82 rooms) but location and reviews look good (except for bed bugs in Oct but this fixed).

Booked VIP Heniken tour - from what Ive read, up to 8 beers after the entire experience - poor hubby as that means up to 16 beers for him (the man rarely drinks once every 5yrs). I think we should hit the gift shop before the tour because I dont want a repeat of when we went to the Bundy factory and he hit the gift shop after the tour's drinks at the bar.

Im not planning on going into Anne Frank's house - is that a bad decision?

Well, its a piece of history, but if you aren't into it, it doesn't matter. We went last year - have to book online a couple of days or so ahead, but that would depend on whether it was high tourist season or not.
Its an interactive audio tour and IIRC tok around 90 mins, more or less. We had a quick bite there too at the cafe, overlooking the canal.

Sounds like it's changed since I went then. If you went more than 10 years ago though then that means I have a bad memory!
