We are looking for a farm stay experience in the Dutch Amish country in Pennsylvania US. Our preference would be to be on an Amish Farm but are open to other suggestions. We would like it to be an operational farm and to be able to talk with the owners about their farming methods (we are farmers) and are not at all concerned about basic/no power etc living. We do not want a commercialized experience where they dress up to impress the tourists who just come to feed the animals.
Has anyone stayed in this area and can offer suggestions as to where to stay or avoid?
We have a car so are not limited by public transport. Two people two days one night.
