Can you please provide the direct wording used as this would be a significant change. David Jones and Westpac have traditionally not been included in the list.

I would reemphasise for people reading this thread that the offer does not exclude you if you have held/currently hold a David Jones or Westpac AMEX card.

Thank you @flydoc

This "or any American Express Credit Card in the past 18 months" is definitely different to "held any Card product issued by American Express Australia Limited" which is the current working for the Ultimate card offer. The former wording appears specific to the offer made to you. The latter wording certainly permits those that have had/current have the David Jones or Westpac issued AMEX cards to still receive the bonus points for the Ultimate card. The latter wording is the wording that applies to anyone who accepts the offer from this thread.

So to reaffirm for those reading this thread you will still receive the bonus points for the current Ultimate card offer in this thread even if you have had/currently have the David Jones or Westpac issued AMEX cards

The 130,000 bonus Qantas Points and 100 bonus Status Credits offer
100 sc, that's something new and interesting in the current context. Do you have any idea how you got to be targeted, apart from being WP? I just updated my qantas marketing email preference to see if I can get some in the future.

Will be applying for this card on Friday (sans qantas offer) as my 18 month amex wait is up. Anyone got a referral link they wish to share for the bonus points?
A referral thread has already been set up for this card and is located here:

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Offer has been extended until 3 May on QF CC site.

With the current economic times & the Velocity Platinum offer beforehand which I assume we won’t see currently, what will the next Amex offer be?

Would be great to see a descent Membership Rewards offer on the likes of the Explorer or Edge cards come by around mid year.

Assume alot of members are still on their 18 month exclusion since last April changes so any good membership reward offer will at least be available until late year.

While the QF offer seems to be extended, the T&Cs for referrals (as at 8am WST 21/4) still says this offer expires tomorrow. If you'd rather grant 60k points to a friendly forum member, as opposed to a few hundred affiliate dollars to Qantas, be sure to apply in the next day using one of the many links on the referral thread: 100k Qantas Points with Qantas Amex Ultimate Card (ends 22 April 2020)

Thanks and more than happy to share the love although sorry not in the market for a new CC until later in the year. Qantas is the only prevalent option now anyways

Random and maybe a dumb question, but is it possible to cancel this card and retain the $450 travel credit if its unused at cancellation?

I think it's extremely unlikely amex will allow you to do that.

What if you book a flight and cancel it for a voucher?
If you manage to get a voucher directly from Qantas, you could have some luck. But, as American Express effectively become your travel agent, you may find Qantas direct you back to them as the TA. Would be interested if anyone has experience with this.
